Planning Questions 12-16
12. How will learners access the resources? | Via the internet on PC or mobile devices. |
13. How will you divide or “chunk” the learning activities into meaningful increments to help learners build or scaffold their learning? | The course is designed as an asynchronous environment. I will “chunk” activities in chronological and linear increments so each section’s activities to build on the prior one. For example, I will provide examples of e-Portfolios of other projects and the next element will provide tools for creating e-Portfolios. |
14. How will you integrate readings, videos, discussions, and activities for meaningful learning? | Course content falls into two areas – rhetorical concepts and theories; and practical application of learned skill sets that manifest in current events coverage. The key is to tie in relevant theory or discussion in to “real world” examples or projects of the concepts. I plan on including weekly/bi-weekly topics that will be discussed in the bi-weekly live online session and alternate week discussion posts. |
15. What active learning experiences will you provide for your learners? | The largest component of learning experiences will manifest with the creation of stories students are working on. Each story has a multitude of learning experiences to apply – some are subjective, but all are individualized to a particular student and story. This fits with the asynchronous nature of the course and activity is going to vary from student to student. |
16. What will your assessment (both formative and summative) look like? | Primarily assessment will take place in the form of editing sessions with the advisor and the publication of the stories in the UP and posted in the e-Portfolios. In addition, students can schedule tutoring/editing session appointments with the advisor. |
