The Importance of an ePortfolio to me

The importance of an ePortfolio to me is pretty simple: It’s a way for me to communicate with me students and other professionals for teaching and networking. I’m involved with many areas of operations at my position at Lamar University. Some responsibilities lay with co-advising the University Press student newspaper and others lay within the Department of Communication and in my general interests.

In addition, I coach students, staff and faculty on using technology for graphic design, web development, journalism and photojournalism, and studio art. Another site that I edit and maintain is The Art Studio, Inc. I contribute in a variety of ways. I’m past-chairman of the board of directors and I write for, copyedit and photograph events that are used for our magazine THE ISSUE and the organization’s website, www.artstudio.org.

I want people to see the innovative work students produce at Lamar and see the creative endeavors of artists at The Art Studio, Inc. as well. The relationship of these organizations serves a variety of purposes that I want to advocate as examples for any community.
